Supporting Local Small Businesses

My friends Antje and Jess have started a microbakery call Local Bun here in Tucson, and are making their market appearances beginning tomorrow! If you’re a local, check them out:

Friday: UAMC market from 10-2 on Fridays – Food In Roots
Saturday:St Phillip’s Plaza Farmers Market from 9-1 – Heirloom Farms

“At Local Bun, we make urban rustic pastries using simple, sustainable ingredients in unusual combinations for a modern twist on traditional european baking. “

I go crazy for their chocolate & bourbon gnome tarts. The kids adore their marshmallow tops.

Full disclosure: Antje made our wedding cake eight years ago, and people are still talking about how amazing it was. And I do receive tasty treats from them any chance I get. Just saying…

Also, another friend KC will be making her local debut as well on Sunday at a Local Vendor Fair hosted by Whole Foods and Etsy. She’ll have hot pads, oven mitts, and more. If you’re not a local, visit her Etsy shop Olive Owl.
