My friend Tammy and her children went with us to visit the pumpkin patch at Agua Linda Farms on Saturday. The day started out nice and cool, which was nice while we enjoyed our pumpkin muffins on the porch. But before we left, it began to heat up. We quickly changed out of our autumn-like clothing before leaving. It was an epic car ride (we kinda went the long way), but eventually, we made it there. The first stop was the bouncing house. That was all the kids could talk about!
After quick lunch, there were pony rides for everyone! Sophia and Nicholas both took a turn on the horse by themselves – and they loved it! We all took turns riding on the fastest miniature pony in existence! She could stop on a dime, which was a good thing, since small children were running everywhere!
After visiting the hay maze (like a corn maze, but constructed out of hay bales) several times, we headed off to the pumpkin patch! It was pretty warm by the point, as you can see by the rosy checks on the babies! I spied a lovely cool garden that was clearly off-limits – it would have been a lovely site for sipping cocktails. We really needed them by the point!
The kids could pick out any pumpkin they wanted…they just had to carry it. Sophia and Nicholas hunted for ages. Katie just wanted a nap…and Gabriel found several small pumpkins he thought would be perfect! Finally, everyone was happy (or at least, really hot & ready to go!)
After an emergency call to Jon to please stock the fridge with cold adult beverages, we made it home. I don’t think the kids stopped eating all day long. At least we visited two pumpkin patches this year, even if the weather refused to cooperate – it was 87 degrees! Not exactly the autumn temperatures we had hoped for! But we had a lovely time!
