Sophia LOVES her quilt. Which is great. Not so great is her request to take it to school – it’s just too big. So, what’s a mama to do?
Why, whip up a blankie for school of course! This mama made an extra square when making the quilt. I had thought it could be used for a baby doll quilt. But it’s better used as a blankie for school. I simply added some more fabric around the original square, and then some hot pink fabric to form another square. Add that to the blanket she appropriated from Gabriel to use as her school blankie…well, you’ve got yourself a new blankie! A simple envelop style quilting, and some decorative stitching around each square later- well, it was really quite simple.
And there is one happy girl tonight, let me tell you!
