I made Milo a snazzy reversible bucket hat from Oliver & S. I made the brim a couple of inches wider for maximum Arizona sun protection. His hat is orange on one side and a print I used for Owen’s pants on the other. I think this was the best hat I’ve made yet – I top stitched the top of the hat and it just added some polish to the hat. Sophia happily modeled for me.
Zuzu had very specific requirements. She wanted rainbows and unicorns – that’s going to be the theme of her birthday party. Oh, and pink is still her favorite color. After hunting around Jo-Ann’s, I finally found something suitable. I followed Anna-Maria Horner’s Flirting the Issue pattern with one modification – only one line of elastic. The rainbows and unicorns fabric was stiff and not fun to sew with, and neither was the pink sheer material I used for the skirt lining. But it sure makes for a super cute rainbows and unicorns skirt. Sophia approved – she wouldn’t take it off until I promised to make her a skirt similar to this one.
